Electronics and Communications

Electronics is the science of the interaction of electrons and other charged particles with electromagnetic fields, as well as the field of technology related to the development and production of electronic devices and instruments used for receiving, transmitting, processing and storing information.

Electrical communication is the transmission and reception of signs, signals, written text, images, and sounds or messages of any kind via wired, radio, optical, or other electromagnetic systems.

Radio engineering is a high-tech field of science and technology that studies electromagnetic waves in the radio frequency range and their use for transmitting, receiving, extracting, and processing information, as well as the design and manufacturing of radio equipment.

Modern radio engineering is developing extremely rapidly both scientifically and technically. Radio engineering knowledge allows to obtain information in various technical, aerospace, biological and other environments and objects by synthesis of radiophysical effects in the formation and processing of radio signals. To modern radio engineering systems include complex in structure means of communication, telecommunications, radar, navigation.

The Radio Engineering program includes:

  • familiarization with the types and characteristics of radio signals, methods and means of measuring signal parameters;
  • familiarization with analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters (ADCs and DACs), their characteristics, working principles, and ADC and DAC circuitry;
  • studying the basics of building devices for generating, receiving, and processing radio signals, types of radio frequency oscillators, their purpose, and principles of operation;
  • familiarization with antenna devices, the features of radio wave propagation in various bands, and the methodology for measuring the main radio technical characteristics of antennas;
  • familiarization with antenna-rotary devices, the principles of programming, compilation, loading, debugging of programs based on microcontrollers, the device of electric drives, the principles of control them;
  • development of basic schemes for generating, receiving, and processing radio signals, as well as measuring their characteristics and parameters;
  • modeling of typical components of radio engineering devices;
  • creation of models for generating, receiving, and processing radio signals.
